Aby można starać się o wizę w kategorii "Skill Migration" należy znać język angielski na odpowiednim poziomie, co najmniej "competent English".
Dla celów imigracyjnych znajomość języka angielskiego sprawdzana jest na podstawie egzaminu IELTS (International English Language Testing System) który w większości przypadków należy zdać na co najmniej 6.0 punktów z czterech modułów egzaminu.
